Challenge
Salmela is a talent advisory firm who's seasoned team of recruitment experts leverage their networks and insights to drive growth for their clients. They do a great job of it too! But, they're in a very competitive market. It became clear to the team that it was time to address their brand to ensure they were standing apart from competitors and letting what makes them unique shine through.
Concept
The primary logo includes the wordmark ‘salmela’ with the accompanying identifier ‘Talent Advisory Firm’ tagline. The 'salmela' wordmark is clean while also using a notable font. The updated colors are vibrant and eye-catching without being overly 'loud'. The color palette give a sense of calm confidence and is a nod to the beautiful blues found in Lake Superior—that the Salmela can see from their main office.
Outcome
With the new brand identity system and logo design in place, we created a number of marketing materials for Salmela as well as a new website. The site and marketing pieces (presentation deck, letterhead, business cards, sales handouts, etc.) all focus on telling a more distinct story that clearly shows the value and expertise Salmela can bring to clients.

Salmela’s refreshed brand identity reflects the firm’s evolution into a confident, modern talent advisory partner. The new logo and visual system balance professionalism with personality—pairing a clean, distinctive wordmark with a vibrant yet composed color palette inspired by the blues of Lake Superior, visible from their main office. This visual direction conveys calm confidence and expertise, setting Salmela apart in a crowded market. The updated brand extends across a cohesive suite of materials and a new website that together communicate the firm’s unique value, deep insight, and commitment to helping clients grow.
