Challenge
Taiga Farm and Seed Co. specializes in seed kits for gardeners and growers in hardiness zones 3 and 4. While their growing expertise was strong, their brand did not fully capture the grit, resilience, and bountiful harvests that define gardening in northern climates. The existing visual identity lacked distinction and did not communicate the company’s story or values. Taiga partnered with us to develop a seed company branding that would clearly represent their northern focus, connect with gardeners, and provide a cohesive visual language for their products, website, and marketing materials.
Concept
We designed a brand that balances ruggedness and resilience with beauty and abundance. The northern climate inspired a visual language that conveys grit, durability, and the perseverance required to grow in zones 3 and 4, while celebrating the richness of the harvest. The hand-illustrated shovel icon gives the brand an earthy, organic feel, while the elegant, flowy workmark adds sophistication. The juxtaposition of these elements reflects Taiga’s unique story: a company that honors both the challenge of northern gardening and the reward of cultivating one’s own food. Topped off with the tagline “cultivate the north,” the brand system tells a clear, cohesive story across every touchpoint.
Outcome
The result is a comprehensive seed company branding and visual identity that reflects Taiga’s mission and northern focus. The brand system provides consistency for their website, product packaging, and marketing materials while visually communicating resilience, abundance, and care. Taiga now has a cohesive, professional brand that sets them apart in the gardening industry and resonates strongly with gardeners in northern climates.

Breaking Ground
The Taiga Farm logo was designed to capture the balance between rugged northern resilience and the beauty of a bountiful harvest. The hand-illustrated shovel adds an earthy, organic feel, while the elegant, flowy workmark brings sophistication. Together, these elements reflect Taiga’s mission to support gardeners in hardiness zones 3 and 4 and tell a cohesive, distinctive story across their brand.
